Mt 15:33-37 And his disciples say unto him, Whence should we have so much bread in the wilderness, as to fill so great a multitude?
And Jesus saith unto them, How many loaves have ye? And they said, Seven, and a few little fishes.
And he commanded the multitude to sit down on the ground.
And he took the seven loaves and the fishes, and gave thanks, and brake them, and gave to his disciples, and the disciples to the multitude.
And they did all eat, and were filled: and they took up of the broken meat that was left seven baskets full.
The disciples compared the need of feeding the multitude to the supply which they had of 7 loaves and few fishes.
But Jesus took the loaves and fishes, looked up to heaven and thanked the Father. He compared the need with the Father’s supply. Because He knew that though the earthly need to feed the multitude was great, but the heaven’s supply and provision was far greater – always infinitely great and endless.
Faith is expressed by giving thanks!
Today, apart from your earthly need you may also be longing for God’s holiness, righteousness, wisdom, patience, joy and etc in your life. God has a limitless supply of all these graces for you. You don’t have to earn or strive to get them. Just exercise your faith – only believe and you will see the glory of God.
Believe that Jesus is made unto us wisdom, and righteousness, and sanctification, and redemption (1Co 1:30). Therefore whatever may be your need, Jesus Himself is that supply for you. If you need joy, Jesus Himself is that joy. If you need life, Jesus Himself is that life.
So express your faith by thanking the Father for all the provision.
Don’t compare your need with your provision,
But compare your need with God’s provision.
There is stored up for you an abundant supply for all your needs, and faith only is the channel through which this supply can flow.
Only believe and thank the Lord.
God bless you!
