Know Jesus

Who is Jesus

The Bible says that there is one God. This one God, however, is expressed in three Persons: God the Father, God the Son and God the Holy Spirit. The Bible does not say that there are three Gods. One God – Triune!

The Second Person of this Holy Trinity is God the Son, Jesus Christ, Who is co-equal with God and was manifested in flesh. He took upon Himself human form; He is completely both God and man. He is the Saviour of the world!

Everything about His birth, His life, His death, burial and resurrection had been foretold by God, angels and the prophets and it all came to pass accordingly.

About Jesus

His Birth

Mt 1:22, 23 So all this was done that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: “Behold, the virgin shall be with child, and bear a Son, and they shall call His name Immanuel,” which is translated, “God with us.”

Lu 1:30, 31 Then the angel said to her, “Do not be afraid, Mary, for you have found favor with God. And behold, you will conceive in your womb and bring forth a Son, and shall call His name JESUS”.

His Life

Zec 9:9 “Rejoice greatly, O daughter of Zion! Shout, O daughter of Jerusalem! Behold, your King is coming to you; He is just and having salvation, Lowly …..”

Mt 2:23 And he came and dwelt in a city called Nazareth, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken by the prophets, “He shall be called a Nazarene.

Isa 53:2 For He shall grow up before Him as a tender plant, And as a root out of dry ground. He has no form or comeliness; And when we see Him, There is no beauty that we should desire Him.

His Death, Burial and His Resurrection

1Co 15:3, 4 For I delivered to you first of all that which I also received: that Christ died for our sins according to the Scriptures, and that He was buried, and that He rose again the third day according to the Scriptures,

Lu 24:46 Then He said to them, “Thus it is written, and thus it was necessary for the Christ to suffer and to rise from the dead the third day,

About His Words

John 7:45, 47 Then the officers came to the chief priests and Pharisees, who said to them, “Why have you not brought Him?“The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this Man!”
John 6:67 Then Jesus said to the twelve, “Do you also want to go away?” But Simon Peter answered Him, “Lord, to whom shall we go? You have the words of eternal life.

About His way of Life

Jesus Himself once asked the Pharisees and the religious leaders in John 8:46 “Which of you convicts Me of sin?…”

John 19:4 Pilate (the Governor who examined Jesus) then went out again, and said to them, “Behold, I am bringing Him out to you, that you may know that I find no fault in Him.”

Judas who betrayed Jesus confessed in Mt 27:4 saying, “I have sinned by betraying innocent blood.”

Mt 27:54 So when the centurion and those with him, who were guarding Jesus, saw the earthquake and the things that had happened, they feared greatly, saying, “Truly this was the Son of God!”

Ac 10:38 “how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Spirit and with power, who went about doing good and healing all who were oppressed by the devil, for God was with Him.

1John 3:5 And you know that He was manifested to take away our sins, and in Him there is no sin.

Jesus, as a sacrificial Lamb took the sins of all humankind upon Himself, He shed His Blood for the cleansing of our sins and died for us.

John 1:29 ¶ The next day John saw Jesus coming toward him, and said, “Behold! The Lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world!

Eph 1:7 In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace

1John 1:7 But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin.

There is forgiveness of sins when you believe in Him.

Ac 10:43 “To Him all the prophets witness that, through His name, whoever believes in Him will receive remission of sins.”

Rom 10:11 For the Scripture says, “Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame.”

Ac 4:12 “Nor is there salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved.

There is eternal life in Him

John 3:15 “that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life”.

John 3:36 “He who believes in the Son (Jesus) has everlasting life; and he who does not believe the Son shall not see life, but the wrath of God abides on him.

John 3:18, 19 “He who believes in Him is not condemned; but he who does not believe is condemned already, because he has not believed in the name of the only begotten Son of God. And this is the condemnation, that the light has come into the world, and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

Knowing Jesus is eternal life

John 17:3 “And this is eternal life, that they may know You, the only true God, and Jesus Christ whom You have sent.

Prayer

Dear Lord Jesus, I believe that You are God, Who came to this world in human form. You gave Your life for me on the cross and Your precious Blood cleanses me from all my sins.

You rose up from the dead; You are alive, so please come into my life. I accept You as my Lord and Saviour. I love You and worship You Jesus. Amen!

If you have prayed this prayer with faith then everyday talk to Jesus in your heart, read the Bible and know Jesus more and more. Grow in your relationship with Jesus; this is the beginning of eternal life. God bless you!

Moses chose to suffer affliction with the people of God than to enjoy the passing pleasures of sin, esteeming the reproach of Christ greater riches than the treasures in Egypt; for he looked to the reward (Heb. 11:24-26).
